The Lab Should Be On The Front-line of Care
As dental laboratory owners and technicians, we are on the front line when it comes to providing patients with the best quality restorations. When you receive a “case” from one of your accounts it would be beneficial to identify with the name on the work authorization, and recognize the “case” as a patient. Therefore, we are obligated, and it is absolutely imperative that we educate and inform our dentist clients when the impression, model, bite registration or instructions on the work authorization are unclear. Clearly communicating issues with the case to the dentist as soon as they are recognized, benefits not only the patient, but improves the dentist-laboratory relationship.
